FAMILY AND PAINTBRUSHES

Not every weekend can be busy and awesome from start to finish, but this past one was.

Friday night I got to help celebrate a friend's birthday at Painting with a Twist.  That place is a great idea to go with a group of friend to celebrate a birthday or just for something fun to do.  You basically show up with your own snacks and bottle of wine and they teach you to paint a picture.

For our group, we were painting a cityscape at night.

I learned a little about myself this weekend.  I'm not great at painting.  Trying to follow an instructor slightly stresses me out.  And I really needed a night out with the girls.

As soon as I made it home around 10pm, we snuck the boys into Joe's truck and left to make the 7+ hour journey to see my family.  This was Linden's first trip to Illinois and our first as a family of four plus a dog.  The trip honestly took eight hours so we arrived at 6am - just in time for the boys to be waking up for the day.

This trip was not on our horizon, but Joe found a tractor down there that he really wanted to look at and probably buy (which he did).  The owner was willing to hold it for us, but we had to do it that weekend.  So, Saturday morning the two of us took a short nap and got back in the truck to make the drive to inspect it, buy it, and haul it back to my parents.

And, since we were down there, Linden got to meet some pretty important people - his family.
